CBCT Analysis of Bone Structure
Material selection between titanium and zirconia begins with 3D analysis of bone. CBCT provides data on bone density, height, and width that are crucial for implant dimensioning. With zirconia implants, apical anchoring length is particularly critical — digital planning makes this requirement precisely measurable.
Angulation Planning for One-Piece Systems
One-piece zirconia implants do not allow angulation correction at the abutment. Digital implant planning with overlay of CBCT data and intraoral scans is therefore mandatory for zirconia — not optional. Deviations from the planned axis cannot be corrected after insertion.
CAD/CAM Fabrication of Suprastructure
Whether titanium or zirconia: the prosthetic restoration is digitally designed and milled. CAD/CAM-fabricated crowns and bridges on zirconia implants achieve a fit accuracy that hand-crafted work cannot reproducibly achieve. The digital process chain from scan through design to fabrication is fully documentable.
