Häufige Fragen (FAQ)

Dental replacement is divided into three main categories: fixed (crowns, bridges, implant crowns), removable (partial denture, complete denture) and combined (telescope denture, bar denture on implants). The choice depends on the number of missing teeth, bone volume, state of health and budget.
An implant is an artificial tooth root replacement made of titanium or zircon that is placed in the jawbone. The crown is the visible dental replacement on top of it. A crown without an implant is attached to a prepared adjacent tooth (bridge) or directly to a damaged tooth.
With proper care, implants last 15–25 years and longer. Crowns and bridges: 10–15 years. Removable dentures: 5–10 years, after which adjustment or re-fabrication is often needed. Digital manufacturing methods (CAD/CAM) improve fit accuracy and thus durability.
In Austria, statutory health insurance covers a standard tariff for certain dental replacement services. Implants themselves are not covered by insurance, but the crown on top receives the same subsidy as conventional dental replacement. For exact amounts: request the insurance subsidy in the treatment plan.
