A complete implant HKP contains: number and position of implants, implant diameter and length, manufacturer and material description, planned bone augmentation measures, type of superstructure (crown, bridge), anesthesia method, aftercare plan, and total costs including itemization by insurance coverage and patient co-payment.

The statutory health insurance in Austria typically covers no portion of implant costs themselves. However, they subsidize the dental prosthetic (crown) on the implant with the same amount as for conventional dental prosthetics — typically 50–80% of the insurance tariff for the superstructure.

Yes. You have the right to reject any HKP, request modifications, or seek a second opinion before signing. A reputable dentist will not pressure you.

Patient co-payment is the amount you pay yourself — total costs minus insurance coverage. With implants, the co-payment is usually very high because the implants themselves are not covered by insurance. Only the crown on top is subsidized.

Always before treatment begins. The HKP is your legal basis and your protection. You should not start implant treatment without a written HKP.
